Personnel personnel back people

ON 8 APRIL the NUJ chapel at Personnel Publications Ltd voted to continue supporting the rights of freelances over copyright. PPL is attempting to remove the right of freelances to a fee whenever their work is reproduced. This move has been prompted by the planned launch of a Web site at the end of June.

The chapel, which produces the fortnightly People Management and Supply Management and monthly Health Management, voted that "all freelance writers should receive an extra fee if and when their work is reproduced by PPL." Management is aware that the staff are now likely to invoke the grievance procedure.
