Notes on negotiating rates for
Photography / Production charges / exes

These are some things to remember when negotiating expenses rates. And please send us your accounts of successful negotiations.

Make sure it is agreed before the photographer sets out that expenses will be paid;
Photographers who are registered for VAT will add it to invoices; and
By law those who are registered for VAT must charge it on all expenses, even items like postage which are exempt until charged on.

All other agreed expenses should be passed on at cost.
