Tidings of comfort and...

LFB member David Shayler, as you may have heard, was jailed in November for breach of the Official Secrets Act in blowing the whistle on his former employer, MI5. The Branch November meeting agreed to send collective greetings to him in prison. It also encourages members to send him Christmas greetings.

On 13 November he was Prisoner HP6 007 (really!) at HMP Belmarsh, Western Way, London SE28 0EB. For his current address, come back here.

Update 23 December 2002

David was released from Ford Open Prison today. He will be under curfew for the remainder of his sentence. Thanks to all those who sent cards...
