Better deals can be yours

Freelances need to do deals. Whether you are a writer, a photographer, a reporter, a subeditor, a broadcaster or whatever, you will benefit yourself if you understand what goes into making a deal and how you might improve on that first offer a client makes.

London Freelance Branch aims to help you achieve better deals for yourself as a freelance with a two-hour workshop devoted to improving your negotiating skills.

We'll be talking about fees, about asking for more money, about expenses and copyright and payment dates, about pitching ideas with deals in mind and about the psychology of negotiations. We may even squeeze in a role play or two.

Just turn up on the night if you want to take part.

The workshop is on Wednesday 15 October at Friends House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ - opposite Euston Station. It will run from 7pm to 9pm. It is free to freelance members of the NUJ.
