Express journalists to strike

Journalists at the Express titles are due to strike this afternoon, General Secretary Jeremy Dear told the NUJ's Annual Delegate Meeting in his opening speech on 8 April.

It remains possible that Northern and Shell will seek an injunction if they can find some technicality in the hoops that the Tory "Industrial Relations" compel the union to jump through.

As always, the Chapel would appreciate it if any freelances asked to cover found themselves to be unavailable. Any who suffer hardship while being unavailable should contact the Chapel.

Members at the Express withdrew their labour for two hours on Friday evening.

Watch for announcements of further action.
