NUJ members went to the Embassy of Iraq in London on 15 June - Iraqi National Press Day - as part of the International Federation of Journalists' global day of action in remembrance of journalists slaughtered in Iraq. London Freelance Branch passed a motion in support of the day of action.

At least 130 journalists and other media staff have been killed in Iraq since the invasion of 2003 - at least 101 of these were Iraqi nationals.
