The history of the NUJ, and its prospects for the next hundred years, were the topic of the London Freelance Branch's June meeting. NUJ President Michelle Stanistreet (left, next to LFB Chair Dave Rotchelle) who is only the fifth woman President in the union's history, hoped that "in 100 years time we're not welcoming the eighth woman president... that's really got to change". Tim Gopsill, (right) co-author of Journalists - 100 Years of the NUJ described the contribution of freelances to the union over the past century.
