Comment négocier? - course handy for Europe

NOW THAT Eurostar arrives at St Pancras International, a mouse's thrown from NUJ headquarters, NUJ Training's Pitch and Deal course is running with a later - 11am - start so that euro-freelances from joined-up Europe can catch an early train and walk round the corner to this one- day course. The LFB's training fund has put up some money toward travel costs from the continent, but there are still places for freelances available, wherever you're from.

The course tutors are LFB's own Humphrey Evans and Phil Sutcliffe. Whether you're a writer, photographers, reporter, subeditor or broadcaster you'll benefit from knowing how to present your work and your ideas so as to make them most attractive to clients and from understanding what goes into making a deal and how you might improve on that first offer. The course aims - through roleplays and discussions - to help freelances market their work and negotiate better deals for themselves.

The course costs £85 for members and is at Headland House, 308 Gray's Inn Road, London WC1: nearest Tube King's Cross St Pancras, 11am to around 5.30pm, Saturday 1 March 2008. You can book at www.nujtraining.org.uk
