Lobby journalism

TELL YOUR MP what you think of cuts to the UK media industry, and let them know your views on how this threatens the regional press in particular, and how this wwill affect local democracy. The NUJ is organising a mass lobby of Parliament on Wednesday 25 March.

This starts with an NUJ briefing in Committee Room 20 of the Houses of Parliament at 2pm, but allow plenty of time (we recommend at least 20 minutes) to arrive and clear security before making your way to the Committee room. After the NUJ briefing, the room will then be available from 3pm onwards for people to meet their MPs.

The NUJ website has a model letter to send to MPs, for members who are able to attend the lobby and also a model letter to your MP for those members who can’t make it to the lobby in person.

Email NUJ Campaigns to let them know that you’re going to the lobby, or if you have any questions about what will happen at the event.
