Investigate CIJ summer school

THERE MAY still be places available at the Centre for Investigative Journalism’s summer school on Friday 6-Sunday 8 July at the City University, London. NUJ members qualify for a reduced rate of £125, which represents a considerable discount.

The Guardian’s Paul Lewis and Simon Rogers will talk on reporting the riots, and there are “how-to” sessions on how to find scoops at local councils, sports scandals investigator Andrew Jennings on finding sources, David Leigh and Iain Overton on getting your investigations commissioned, miscarriages of justice, court reporting, the future of journalism, data journalism, and the secrets of banking.

Some of the talks are open to the public for a small admission fee. See the CIJ website for details.
