A Future that Works

THE TRADES Union Congress is calling a demonstration for "A Future that Works" in London on 20 October, and the NUJ is supporting and promoting the event.

Gather from 11am on Victoria Embankment: the NUJ banner will be behind the Fire Brigades Union, RMT and Transport Salaried Staff - there should be signs on lamp-posts - probably back toward Temple or even Blackfriars.

Note that the Circle Line will not be running through Embankment, Temple or Blackfriars, though the District Line should be. If the crowds are as huge as we hope it is possible that Embankment station will close anyway for safety reasons.

There will be a disability assembly zone for the full march in Savoy Street. Disabled marchers travelling by car will need to apply for a vehicle access permit. There will be a disability assembly zone for a shorter march in St James Street (off Piccadilly) that will feed into the march as it passes.
