Reclaim the media

THE COALITION for Media Pluralism is holding a public meeting on the concentration of media ownership, entitled "Reclaim the media", on Monday 28 April.

It's in Committee Room 8 at the House of Commons and it starts at 18.30 so you'll need to join the queue for the public entrance by 17:50 to be safe. And you need to book via Eventbrite.

Speakers include: Caroline Lucas MP, John McDonnell MP (NUJ all-party parliamentary group secretary) and NUJ General Secretary Michelle Stanistreet. The Coalition describes itself thus:

A coalition of civil society organisations and professional bodies from throughout Europe have come together with the immediate purpose of running a European Citizens Initiative (ECI) demanding action to ensure media pluralism. The UK Coalition on Media Pluralism aims to open up a serious debate on the need to limit the concentration of media ownership and to increase the range of voices in the local and national media.
